Bin One Eleven

Hartland, WI

Once again, with the generosity of our sponsors & in-kind donors, and our 135+ guests, we reached our goal of $25,000. This money will be donated to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, in June, to support the Young Child Play Area, on the recently renovated Inpatient Oncology Unity.

Thank-you, thank-you to Dr. Bruce Kaufman, Medical Director, Neurosurgery, Children's Hospital of WI and Julie Martindale, RN & Lisa Ferguson, RN for sharing their message about the Young Child Play Area. Their words were inspriational & informative.

Hands down the most popular part of the evening was the "Ballon Pull" & new this year, the "Elite Ballon Pull". WI Angels do like to play games and do like to have fun! So like Maggie!!

Thanks to our dedicated committee members who donated countless hours, contributing to the sucess of this event.

I continue to be humbled by the selfess generosity and the loving hearts of the Angels in WI.

5th Annual "Ride 4 Wishes"

Saturday, January 16, 2016

Hartland, WI

Maggie's Angels totally "hit it out of the park" with our 5th Annual Ride 4 Wishes. Lake Country Racquet and Athletic Club, in Hartland generously hosted this event. We had 5 spin classes that were overfilled with enthusisastic riders, tempting silent auction items, delicous butterfly cookies, Channel 12 covered our event as well as "30 West" magazine and Ms. WI & Ms. Teen WI graciously rode with us in their tutu's & tiera's. But most importantly, Wish Kid Emma and her mother, joined us for the morning. How blessed we were to meet them and to have them be a part of this event. All in all, after all sponsorships and donations were in, we raised just over $8,600. Not bad for a morning of healthy, heart pumping fun. Because of this successful fundraiser, 18 year old Emma's Wish to go to Italy this summer, will become a reality. Maggie's Angels couldn't have done this without the generosity of Lake Country Racquet and Athletic Club, the support of the Lake Country Community, the hard working Kohl's volunteers we had, and of course, our ever faithful Maggie's Angels

My heart bursts with emotion when I consider all the blessings that continue to come out of the tragedy of Maggie's death. She would be so proud.....I am thankful to be surrounded by such amazing, selfless Angels.

God is good and continues to shine His light on our ministry.

Walk 4 Wishes

Saturday, August 22, 2015

Milwaukee, WI

Maggie's Angels 9th year as a team at Make-A-Wish Wisconsin's "Walk 4 Wishes" on Saturday, August 22, 2015 proved to be another banner event! In true "Maggie Style" we once again lit up the shores of Lake Michigan in pink, sparkly tutu's. We had the privilege of receiving top honors for the largest wish team (281 members) and highest pledge total ($18,266). But hands down, the most spectacular award went to Kaylyn Burton (Andrea Bye's 15 year old niece from Montana) who won the coveted Michael Kovnar Spirit Award. This is awarded to the child under 18, who raises the most money. Kaylyn, you are awesome and we are honored that you are one of Maggie's Angels.

The final gala at the Bye home afterwards was a glorious time to come together and celebrate all our blessings this year. Highlights were Alannah McGlocklin's (standing in for her sister and Wish Child, Kayleigh) touching speech and the presentation of the 2nd Annual Tutu Award to Mike Timmerman from MN. The night was beautifully capped off with the lighting of the Wish Lanterns

My heartfelt thank-you to everyone who came together, in so many ways, to make this event so incredible. With the donations for the Walk, Maggie's Angels was able to completely grant 10 year old Kayleigh's wish to have her service dog, Charlie. Her parents have told me that Charlie makes Kayleigh's life easier and brings a smile to her face everyday. And that, my friends, is precisely why Maggie's Angels do what we do...

"ask yourself

     if what your'e doing today

          is having a positive impact

on the life of a child in need...."

Feeling blessed,

Wine, Cheese & Chocolate Tasting

Saturday, March 21, 2015

Bin One Eleven, Hartland, WI

It is difficult to describe the outpouring of support and generosity at our Wine Tasting Event. 125+ guests and we raised just over $15,000 to donate to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, for the Zero-G Gait & Balance System, in the new neuroscience unit to be completed in July of 2015. Thank you to Dr. Evans & CHW staff, Justin and Bin 111 staff, Jon LaPorte for his music, to the dedicated Angels who donated countless volunteer hours and to our awesome (& fun) guests. Most especially we appreciate Dr. Sachin Jogal, Maggie's Oncologist, whose tender message about Maggie and his personal mission to help kids with cancer, brought tears to the eyes of everyone! Once again I am reminded of how God has turned the tragedy of Maggie's death into something so powerful.

Her legacy continues to be the spark that ignites the fire in our Angel Ministry

4th Annual "Ride 4 Wishes"

Saturday, January 24, 2015

Form & Fitness Health Club

Grafton, WI

Our annual, "Ride 4 Wishes" was an energizing success again this year. We had a great turnout of riders (new & old), we sold out on butterfly cookies and pink scarves, our auction items were amazing, and of course the "Day of Wine & Sailing" on Lake Michigan brought an all time high bid.

Thank-you to all our faithful volunteers, to Ben and his staff from Form and Fitness  and a special kudos to Melissa Spredemann. Her incredible dedication and enthusiasm for this event continues to inspire us all!!

I am pleased to say we were able to sponsor, 13 year old Samual's wish, through Make-A-Wish WI to go to the Grand Prix in Monoco this Spring!!

We pray that Samuel and his family have a fabulous wish trip and create memories that will last a life time.

God continues to bless our ministry.

"Walk 4 Wishes"

Saturday, August 23, 2014

Milwaukee, WI

Thank you to all the Maggie's Angels who took the lakefront by storm in PINK TUTU'S at Saturday's Make-A-Wish Walk. We were 155 team members strong, from 8 months to 91 years old & represented 8 states & Norway! We raised over $24,000.00 & will be granting our 20th wish, Natalie's Wish. Natalie is a 15 year old who loves PINK & wishes to go to Italy next spring with her high school choir. Thanks to the support of Maggie's Angels Inc., 501 (c)3 her wish will come true.

Afterwards we gathered at the Bye home in Hartland & celebrated the many blessings God continues to bestow upon us. We ate, drank, played yard games, shared favorite Maggie stories, jumped in the Pink Castle Bounce House, wrote messages to Maggie on the Wish Lanterns, had the ceremonial "Lighting of the Latnerns" at dusk. And yes, young Jason from Michigan successfully defended his title as Fooseball Champion for the third year running. Remembering & honoring sweet Maggie's life...

Endter's Sports Grill

Hartland, WI

Thanks to all the generous supporters of our Endter's event, young 11 yr old Hailee will have her WISH come true later this spring.  She is a precious 11 yr old from Greendale, WI who is living with Cystic Fibrosis.  Her wish is to have a place where she can be away from her daily treatments and enjoy time with her friends.

A special thank you to Pat & Jackie Endter for their benevolence and to the fantastic servers at our event. Still wondering just exactly what my mystery shot was(!)? Oh well, it was yummy!!

To God goes all the glory for another succesful event. His light continues to shine on our journey.

Velocity Cycling Studio Mequon, WI

Once again this year our Spinning Event was INSPIRING. More people than ever signed up to ride & we were able to share the message of our Angel Ministry with many new faces!!! Through the generous support of these awesome Angels we were able to raise over $4,500.00 towards granting precious Hailee's Wish to have a playhouse. A special thank-you to Melissa, owner of Velocity Cycling Studio, for her dedication to making this event successful. Also, we appreciate Kohl's, Brown Deer, Wi. volunteers, for helping out again this year.

FIRST OREGON WISH

Wednesday November 6, 2013

Portland, Oregon

Through the generous and heartfelt support of PermaCold Engineering Inc., Portland, Oregon, Maggie's Angels was able to adopt our first WISH through Make-A-Wish Oregon.  Last June, PermaCold hosted a very successful Golf Outing / Silent Auction, that raised closed to $4,900.00.

Thus, 6 year old Myah, living with brain cancer, and her family were able to travel to Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawaii for the trip of a lifetime.  Sweet Myah laughed, played, swam and hugged her favorite Disney characters.   Myah's favorite parts of the Wish was getting hugs and kisses from Mickey and Minnie, telling stories with Chip & Dale, and dancing with Goofy at breakfast.  Memories that will last a lifetime!!!

Thank-you, PermaCold, for your awesome support in

WALK & RUN 4 WISHES

Saturday August 24, 2013
Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Working together as a team, blessed by God, & inspired by Maggie's legacy of courage & sheer determination, our 5th year as a team at the Walk & Run was an amazing success.  Once again, we received the award for the LARGEST WISH TEAM (270 members strong) and the award for the HIGHEST PLEDGE TOTAL FOR A WISH TEAM (over $43,000.00). Now that's a lotta smiles on the faces of precious Wish Kids & their families, here in Wisconsin.

But even more inspiring was when Kaylyn Burton, 13 yr old niece of my beautiful daughter-in-law Andrea, from a small town in Montana, won the Michael Kovnar Spirit Award!!! I admit I cried with joy when her name was announced at the awards ceremony.  She worked tirelessly, from her laptop, to build our team this year! What an incredible spirit that young Angel has.  Our goal is to have her here with us next year for the Walk & Run 2014.

Our Post Walk Gala ended with another touching "Lighting of the Wish Lanterns".  Messages to Angel Maggie to let her know we love her & miss her everyday, & are carrying on HER WORKS.

Reflecting back on Maggie's life I am reminded:

        WHAT CANCER CANNOT DO
         It CANNOT eat away peace.
        It CANNOT destroy confidence.
          It CANNOT kill friendship.
        It CANNOT shut out memories...

Thank-you to ALL you Awesome Angels who worked so hard to make our team a success. God has truly blessed our ministry.  We have come so far & I get incredibly excited when I consider how far we have yet to go... Maggie always said "Sky's the limit!!"

This will be the first time Maggie's Angels has run simultaneous events in different locations. I pray for God's blessing, of this awesome opportunity, to raise the awareness of our ministry at the same time as we are able to raise money to grant the wishes of precious children, like Sammy.  Angels, from all over the country, coming together, to bring smiles to the faces of deserving children...priceless!!!!

Maggie's Angels Inc, 501 (c)(3) supported Wishmakers at UWM, a student run Chapter of Make-A-Wish Wisconsin, during their fundraiser called Wish Week: Give a Penny, Grant a Wish. Wishmakers and the UWM Grind (Coffee House on Campus) partnered up to raise funds by spare change donations to help grant a Wish!

With the generosity of all those who donated their spare change, they made $776.50, which will go directly towards Andreau's Wish to go to Fiji! Our STRONG Pink Angels offered to match Wishmaker’s total, which in turn made their GRAND TOTAL $1553.00!

We are elated with joy that we are able to give out a helping hand to another organization that works very hard, just like our Pink Angels do!
